Fujifilm's Z series gets a little bit of a tech-overhaul with the introduction of the FinePix Z700EXR. It brings the Super CCD EXR sensor to a touch-screen camera for the first time. Also introduced today is the FinePix Z70. Though it doesn't have a touch LCD, it gives the trendy Z series a fresh face.

The EXR designation at the end of the model name means that the FinePix Z700EXR will utilize Fujifilm's Super CCD EXR sensor. It offers specialized shooting modes to increase dynamic range and reduce noise in low-light images. For more on this technology, check out our review of the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR.
A large 3.5 inch display with a 460k-dot resolution plays host to a new graphical interface. The internally contained lens offers a 5x optical zoom range and keeps the camera's lightly curved surface smooth. The Z700EXR will record HD movies at 720p. Also included are features like face recognition, sensor-shift image stabilization, and automatic scene recognition.

The Z70 is similar in style to the Z700EXR, though it doesn't pack quite the feature-rich punch. It's equipped with a 12 megapixel sensor, a 2.7 inch LCD, and another internally contained 5x optical zoom lens. It will record 720p HD videos through one touch of a dedicated movie button.
The social media enthusiast will be able to easily upload files to Facebook and YouTube. A new automatic uploading feature will allow users to tag photos or videos in-camera and set them to publish to their favorite sharing site when the camera is reconnected to a computer loaded with Fujifilm software.
Pricing and availability
The Fujifilm FinePix Z700EXR will be available in March 2010 for $279.95; the FinePix Z70 will debut in February at a price of $149.95.
